Kemal Tufan was born in Silivri, Istanbul. He graduated from the Industrial Engineering Department of the Technical University of Istanbul in 1985 and graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Fine Art Faculty of Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul in 1994.
From 2005-2013 he was Adjunct Professor Marmara University/ Fine Art Faculty, Sculpture Department, Istanbul, Turkey.
He is also an accomplished painter and has worked as a choreographer and decorator with different theatres, modern dance and Turkish folk dance groups.
Kemal often uses transport as a theme for his sculptural works and his outgoing personality enhances any symposium he attends. He is highly regarded in Turkey and internationally and has attended many symposiums all over the world.
